Dove Die & Stamping LLC Dove Die & Stamping LLC Brook Park, OH Brook Park, OH Full-time Full-time $25 - $35 an hour $25 - $35 an hour Build and repair progressive stamping dies, primary; new developments, major rebuilds and long run die repairs.
Must be capable of building and maintaining any dies from startup and development through final die tryout and part approval.
Ongoing die/process improvement capabilities are stressed.
All general machining, grinding and die mounting must be performed with minimal supervision.
Know what is dimensionally and functionally critical to the tooling in each situation.
Work with Quality Control to ensure parts are following customer specifications.
Approach repair, rebuild, and troubleshooting jobs as an opportunity for continuous product improvement.
Be resourceful and research possible quality or tool functioning problems.
Die strips, loose parts, part prints, and inspection reports are sources for this information.
Accept and embrace new techniques, equipment, and processes that is superior to existing ones.
Also, be willing to suggest these changes, as they become known to you.
Learn and develop work techniques that attain a blend of speed and accuracy.

year's die making (solid build experience) or 3
years with a state approved apprenticeship completion.
Company has discretion with respect to experience time frame.
Build experiences should be:
Stamping dies; progressive, single stage, line and secondary operation.
Transfer and deep draw die experiences are desirable.
Additional versatility in gage, fixture, and special machine building is a plus.
Familiarity operating a wire EDM.
Conceptual strengths are stressed.
We need die makers that can work from part prints, sketches, samples, layouts and verbal instructions to produce tooling that demonstrate the following properties:
Proper, sound mechanical techniques that yield accurate components.
Good building speed with the ability to organize work for helpers, apprentices, and other machinists.
Ability to visualize die function, action and to adjust during build to meet these requirements Ability to press de-bug and troubleshoot dies to a satisfactory conclusion.
Promote and maintain a safe work environment for himself and co-workers, especially apprentices and new employees.
Responsible for cleanliness and housekeeping in the area where your work is performed.
Must maintain a safe and suitable environment.
Responsible for understanding and following all the required procedures and work instructions as required by ISO 9001 per the Dove Die and Stamping Quality System Manual.
Must have a self-starting attitude.
Projects should be taken on knowing the responsibilities of Class A die making.
Accurate calculations and cross checking of pressure requirements (blanking, stripping, bending, forming, drawing, etc.
); flat blank layout dimensions (bend allowances, draw and area formulas unfolding, etc.
); clearances (cutting, drawing, heeling, etc.
); Must have a clear understanding of die plan, section, elevation and detail views that transmit the required machining information is essential.
Confidence in work is very important.
It allows you to work with maximum freedom and minimal supervision-highly desirable factors to most die making professionals.
Maintain accurate documentation (tool layout drawings, detail (PA) drawings, spare part sheets, and lists, etc.
) and communicate need for change.
Help develop sound work ethics, skills and confidence in apprentices and junior die makers.
