Machinist

Overview:
The Machinist will operate manual machining equipment including any of the following machines; lathe, cylindrical and surface grinder, radial drill press, horizontal boring mill, piranha punch press, and Bridgeport milling machine.
Component machining for fabrication in lifting devices will require strict attention to quality and productivity standards.
Responsibilities:
Setup, operate, adjust and maintain all production machines and equipment to produce machined parts for use in finished products Work specific parts through multiple machine fabrication processes Measure and layout all workpiece on the drill press, lathe, or other machines Plan the best sequence of operations Use of several types of measuring equipment to properly inspect parts produced Check accuracy of work against blueprints verify dimensions Move, handle and store material as necessary Work with other members of the department to support fabrication tasks Perform duties to establish Mazzella Quality Assurance Standards; report defective or substandard material, supplies or products Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition; follow all Safety Guidelines Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
EducationA high school diploma or GED and trade school preferred; trade school or military experience a plusExperience & Skills Ability to setup and operate various manual machines (Prefer 3-5 years of prior experience) Experience reading and comprehending mechanical drawings and blueprints Must be able to lift or pull a minimum of 50 pounds Must be able to work with a diverse mix of materials and products, as well as machinery Requires solid written and verbal communication skills Demonstrated mechanical aptitude Strong analytical, conceptual and planning skills are required Excellent math and measurement skills are required Must be detail oriented, self-motivated and disciplined with the ability to multi-task Must successfully complete a criminal background check, physical, drug screen and E-verify The Mazzella WayMazzella is a family owned company that puts people first.
